Harper's Weekly
July 25, 1874
This original print is excellent with minor tears along the edge. 12X16" Thomas Nast drew for Harper's Weekly from 1862 to 1886, but it was his vitriolic attacks on Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall beginning in 1871 that sent him to the apex of his fame. South Carolina's Governor has gotten the State into a mess. Racked with debt, fraud, IOUs, Taxes, corruption, ruin, default, fraud and sheriff's sales it looks like Prison is the only place left for him to go. Print is better than the scan. Any shading shown is in the scan and not the print. Prints are fairly off-white.
