Harper's Weekly
April 29, 1876
This original print is excellent with minor tears along the edge. 12X16" Thomas Nast drew for Harper's Weekly from 1862 to 1886, but it was his vitriolic attacks on Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall beginning in 1871 that sent him to the apex of his fame. Mississippi shows it's real self when Governor Ames resigns rather than be impeached. He inherited a legislature of hostile politicians. Print is better than the scan. Any shading shown is in the scan and not the print. Prints are fairly off-white.
